On the 30th October in the Palau de la Generalitat, the promotion of the electric car in Catalonia was officially given a boost by means of the signing of a collaboration agreement between the company Nissan International and the City Council of Barcelona.
For its part, the City Council of Barcelona plans to have 250 recharging points distributed throughout the city in the first semester of 2011. Furthermore, Barcelona will develop a series of incentives and actions to promote zero emission mobility, which includes a reduction of up to 75% of the vehicle road tax and free public car parking.
Moreover, Nissan has agreed to initiate the sales of the 100% electric car, the Nissan LEAF, during 2011 through its networks distributors of electric vehicles.
